My Left Foot

Okay, here's the deal. As most of you know, Mommy has been very unhappy with the orthopedic care I have been receiving. I have seen two docs in Phx but both thought I didn't need braces yet. (See July postings) Mommy, and most of my therapists, all agree that I should have had some type of bracing months ago. My left foot that has always turned up and out, but remained flexible, is now stiff in the ankle joint. This makes it very difficult for Mommy to do my stretches and range of motion excercises.

Instead of going to Phx again and being disappointed, (I don't think Mommy can handle that again) I have been approved to go to the Shriner's Children Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. The SLC hosp specializes in orthopedic care and the doctor I am going to see is an Infantile Scoliosis Specialist. Although I had my detethering in Nov. and my spinal cord is free, my spine is still quite curved so Mommy is so thankful for this scoliosis specialist.

The Shriner's Hospitals are completely free!!! Completely!!! They are even going to pay for our transportation there. Once we are there, we are going to stay at the Ronald McDonald House. So, the next time you see a man with a funny, maroon hat (phez) on, tell them, "Thank you" and that you know someone special that they have helped. (Mommy's crying right now)
Here I am at the local Shrine club. Mommy, Daddy and I went there on Monday for tacos and to talk to Clint Stevens...he's the local President of the Shriner's Club. It was my first experience with a pool table...where did the ball go???? oh, wait, there it is!!

I'm glad yall are going to Shriners! One of the kids I used to see when I was working went to the one in Shreveport and they were very happy with their care.
