I know this may sound easy to some of you, but yesterday I sat up from a lying face down position...all by myself!! Now, don't get me wrong...I have done it before with assistance or with someone right next to me...but on Wednesday I decided it was time to go it alone. I was in the hallway and Mommy was in the kitchen...she knew I was about to go into the bathroom so she came in and shut the door. When she left me lying there, I was crawling around on my tummy...when she peaked around the corner to check on me, I was sitting there and yea-ing (applauding) myself. Mommy was very impressed with me. :-D She figured I would probably do it all the time now that I have figured out how to sit up...and she was right...I must have done it at least 6-8 more times over the next two days. Mommy can't wait to tell Ann (physical therapist) on Monday and Jenny (early intervention) on Friday.

Urology appt - Important
On Monday, Mommy found out that we have to go to Phoenix on June 2 for an appt with the urologist, Dr. Ritchie. What they do during this urodynamics test is test the pressure in my bladder...first, they will empty my bladder, then they will fill it back up with a solution. Meanwhile, the catheter they are using to do all of this is hooked up to a machine that tells them how much liquid my bladder can hold and at what point I start to leak urine. Obviously the goal is not to leak at low pressure.
But who wants to be like everyone else??? Not me...so my bladder does some crazy things all on its own. The muscles of my bladder spasm so I take a medicine 3 times a day to help control the spasming and it helps my bladder to relax so it can expand to hold the pee-pee so I don't leak. Then, every couple of hours, Mommy comes in with the pee-pee sticks and empties my bladder for me. Then I am comfortable for another few hours. Nice and empty... and dry.
So needless to say, this test needs to be done every 6 months or so. Let's all hope and pray that nothing really changes, no increase in meds or that I can hold a lot of pee-pee without leaking. It's kind of ironic that most mommies want their children to pee in the diapers but mine doesn't...hmmm.....

Back to the Vegas airport
On Wednesday, May 14, Mommy and I took Oma back to the airport for her trip back to Reno. It's always hard to say goodbye.
After we dropped her off...Mommy and I went to dinner with my brother Grant...it was another celebration for Mommy's birthday. We had burgers (I had fries) at Red Robin. Before leaving, we walked out to Grant's truck to say hi to Grant's dog, Kitty. (Boy...does that one confuse me!!)

Papa
My Papa is a truck driver and when he passed through this area he decided to surprise us by stopping by. It was late and past my bedtime so I was really cranky but it was good to see him. He tickled me and gave me kisses.

Mother's Day
Trip to the Vegas airport
What a day Wednesday was....first, mommmy and I went to get Oma from the airport. I probably spent the first couple of minutes cussing Oma out because she had been gone too long. Next, we went to eat lunch with my brother, Grant, at Chilis. After lunch we ran up to Cassie's salon to make an appointment for Oma to get her hair done but Cassie doesn't work on the day Oma was planning. Too bad :( Then after all that, we went to my brother, Blake's baseball game. They won!! 7-0!! It was very good to see my brothers...it's been awhile...several months as a matter of fact.

Oma's coming!!
We are getting ready for my Oma (grandma) to come visit. Mommy keeps telling me she's coming, but I will believe it when I see it. We have to drive to the Las Vegas airport to get her in the morning. After we pick her up, we are going to have lunch with my brother, Grant. I can't wait!! Hopefully, later in the day, I can go see my other brother Blake, after his baseball game.
I've attached a picture of me and all my brothers...it's quite a dated picture...I was much younger back then...tee-hee. From left to right, my brothers...Ashton, Blake and Grant. I'm the cute one in the middle.

Early Intervention
Mommy and I rushed home on Wednesday from Phoenix because mommy wanted me to do my Brenda therapy. Both Brenda and Jenny were here again today. Here are a couple of videos from my session.
The Munoz family
When mommy and I went to Phoenix, we stayed with the Munoz family. Mommy's friends, Jennifer and Mike were gracious enough to open up their home for us to stay at after my appt. Usually we stay at Uncle Shaun & Aunt Michelle's house but because mommy hadn't seen Jennifer since Thanksgiving, she wanted to go see her especially since she's expecting baby #3. This was all fine with me because I got to see all of my friends too...Joshua, Jeremiah, Shaun and Aunt Jeannie!!
Mommy bought me a new pair of kneepads while we were in Phx so I was able to test them out on Jennifer's floor. They are so cool and help protect me little knees from chafing and rugburn.

Doctor diagnosis
Mommy and I went to Phoenix on Tuesday for my GI appt. We met with Dr. Finch, who is a new doctor for me. We like him very much. The doctor wanted to keep me on the same medicine, Senokot, to help me try to go poopy...but now, if I don't go poop within 48-72 hours after my last poopy, mommy has to give me an enema to help release the crack rocks that are stuck. [That's what we like to call those hard ones :-) ] It sure does help relieve the pressure in my belly.
